Karen Walker SS12/13 Lookbook.

Source: Oyster

I am absolutely loving Karen Walker's SS12/13 lookbook! Gorgeous prints, metallic's, great shapes! The model also reminds me of my friend Morgan. Check out the rest at the above link!

I'd be happy to grab myself one of these lovely pieces.

Hair and Makeup #1.

This is my easy 'second day hair' messy bun. So easy. Pop your hair in a high ponytail, grab a comb, and back comb until your hair resembles a birds nest. Pop it up in a bun-like shape, and secure with bobby pins! Voila.

For makeup I make sure I have a good base - keep your skin prepped and moisturised. Then use a foundation that matches your skin tone (too dark and you get those horrible lines, too light and you look like a ghost!). I pop a dash of blush on, fill my eyebrows in, and pop on some liquid eyeliner and mascara, a slick of lippy and I'm done!

Me on Saturday night at my friends place... I actually quite like this photo so thought I would pop it in. :)

Outfit #5. Parka edition.

Wearing: Ezibuy Parka, Glassons jeans, Glassons boots, Ezibuy Snood, Witchery basics tee.

This weekend my sister-in-law came to stay, so we headed into town yesterday to get mani-pedis. I got a bright orange colour on both my toes and nails. It's so nice to be pampered! It was also nice to have someone there who could take an outfit post for me! So this has been long overdue!

Last night we went to the rugby, my boss let me use his tickets to the lounge, which was fantastic! We then headed into town which was fun, because I hardly ever go into town.

Next weekend is Queens Birthday weekend, and my mum and dad are coming up. We're going to head to Martinborough for a wine tasting one day, not sure what else!

What have you guys been up to this weekend?

Winter Must Haves.

Ankle boots with thick heels. I'm planning on getting the black ones. From Glassons.
Khaki parka and grey wool coat, both from ASOS. I'm loving grey and chestnut coats right now!
Long-line cardigan and a warm knitted snood, both from ASOS.
Quilted shoulder leather jacket (who wants to buy me a birthday present?) and boyfriend jeans, both from ASOS.
Thick, well tailored trousers for work (with a metalic hint!) and knit dresses, also from ASOS.
Printed pants and leather-look pants, again from ASOS (can't you tell I'm addicted?).

What? Watt.

On Saturday night I headed to my friend, Emily's, place to go to something called a 'Watt Party'. Kendall Watt is an up and coming New Zealand designer who graduated about two years ago, and is trying to make a name for herself. I absolutely adore her designs, and it was fantastic to meet her. My favourite picks were her lace back shirt, the lace back merino long sleeved dress (below, second from front) and the Petal Dress (front below).

Kendall looking fantastic.

Kendall and her mum had driven down from Auckland with everything in the back of the car like travelling saleswomen! I love the idea of throwing 'fashion parties' where up and coming designers can showcase their designs in an intimate way, with a group of girlfriends over bubbles and nibbles.

My friend Emily modeling one of the coats - she does wonderful things with two tones, and the lining on her coats is this gorgeous paisley that I adored!

Em looking adorable. Hopefully in the near future you will see more of her, we're planning on doing a few shoots so that I can play with my camera's and have a bit of fun.

You can check out Kendall's designs here - go on! Order away! They are able to ship worldwide and I think she's dying for an online order!

Sunny Sunday.

Today I went to my friends for an Oxfam Brunch which was fantastic! Along the way I snapped a few shots with my new camera. Here are a few of the results.

Winter Inspiration : Parkas.

Lately I've been so swept up in the Spring trends of the Northern Hemisphere, I completely forgot about the Winter trends (the ones I should be wearing right now!). I absolutely LOVE parkas, and big heavy warm ones are fantastic for the chilly winter.

Tonight I'm going to a party at my friends house, where her friend Kendall Watt will be showing us her latest range of clothing. I'll be taking many snaps and hopefully will post them on here. Bubbles will be flowing and it sounds like it will be a fantastic night.

On Sunday morning I have a charity brunch for Oxfam at my friends place - fair trade coffee, chocolate and pancakes to be had by all!

What are your weekend plans?

As you may have noticed, yesterday I did a few changes to the blog - I've been wanting to spruce it up a little bit more, and make it more 'marketable'. I'm really wanting to make a go of it here and make things more fun and interesting for you guys.

So, what would you like to see on here? What kinds of topics would you like me to cover, specific kinds of blog posts (outfits, makeup, photography?). Let me know what you want!

I'm also planning on getting some guest posts on here. If you would like to be a guest blogger some time, email me at and hopefully we can make it happen!

Autumn Ending.

Brr... it's getting so cold out these days! According to the news, the first snowfall of the season is happening right now down the far south and overnight at Ruapehu. I can't wait for skiing season to start! Even though I'll probably only get one day in this year (I didn't get any in last year!) it's better than nothing!

Blogging has been a little slow lately, but I'm so excited! I received my Canon G12 on Monday and can't wait to go outside this weekend and start snapping. I've had a play, but I really need to have time outside with it (so difficult when I get up in the morning it's dark and I head straight to work, go to the gym, and come home when it's dark!).

I got nominated by the lovely Emma at Daydream Believer for a Versatile Blog Award! Thanks Emma, it feels so great that I'm doing things right and that people are enjoying my blog (I was a bit worried there).

Anyway, these are what I must do to honor the award:

Nominate 15 fellow bloggers who's blog you enjoy.
Let them know you've nominated them.
Share 7 random facts about yourself.
Thank the blogger who nominated you.

I don't think I can fully nominate 15, but I'll nominate 5 of my friends who always are supportive of my blog, and I of theirs.
Laura at kitsunetsuki
Miss K at Luxessed
Renee (fellow Wellingtonian) at Olive meets Hazel
Nirrimi at The Road Is Home (YAY! She's updating again! And because she's one of my favourite photographers ever!).

Seven random facts:
  1. I am obsessed with pinning new recipes to my Food board on Pinterest. Obsessive really. Pretty food love right here.
  2. My life is incredibly boring. I go to work, go to the gym, go home, make dinner, watch a show and go to bed at the nana-hour of 9:30pm. Nana.
  3. I'm originally blonde. When I was 2 I had these little golden ringlets that bounced around. Gorgeous. I'm sure my babies will have gorgeous golden ringlets as well.
  4. I've never been in love (though I really do believe in it, vulnerability is not my strong suit).
  5. I'm probably too independent for my own good.
  6. I like to have a schedule and stick to it. I'm pretty OCD in that way. In other ways, I'm a complete mess. But if I didn't have a schedule, I would never do what I intend to do. Lists are also good.
  7. Learning new things and meeting new people makes me incredibly happy and passionate about life.
I now promise to have something original and new to share with you this weekend! Phew, what a wordy post - hope you managed to get through it! Here's a little bit of that food porn I was talking about:
