Photo: me.

Hi guys! Just a quick note - hope you're all having a fantastic weekend! My parents are here, so I've been busy entertaining them and making sure they're having a fantastic time here in Wellington! So far my mum's mind has been blown by having lunch in the vicinity of Martin Freeman and a couple of dwarves (if anyone doesn't know, Martin (aka, that geeky porn-star-fill-in-guy off Love Actually) plays Bilbo in the upcoming Hobbit movie).  She had a bit of a fluster over that.

We headed to the town of Martinborough today. Martinborough is a town run on wineries - I love the place, it's so beautiful and picturesque. They do a wine and food festival each year called Toast Martinborough, which is fantastic. I went to it last year, and the photo above was taken on my iphone at a beautiful winery. That house you can rent out and I'm hoping me and some girlfriends can go one weekend! We went here for lunch today, though not as picturesque as when the vines are covered in leaves, it was beautiful and the wine and food was amazing.

We're planning on going to the Zoo tomorrow and maybe take a drive around. Happy 60th Jubilee Queenie!

  1. Sounds like you're having a great time! I hope you will post some more photos of what you've been up to. Have a lovely Sunday. xoxo

  2. Marlborough sounds amazing, the wine isle at countdown (which I frequent ALOT) is plastered with it! That photo is amazing too! And from an iPhone! XxElly @ jazzlipsandtulips

    1. This is Martinborough, not Marlborough! Martinborough is about 1 hour north of Wellington while Marlbourough is a region the top of the South Island. Marlborough is more well known for its Sauvignon Blanc. Martinborough has better pinot noirs. :)

    2. I'm going to blame that one on the lack of glasses!

  3. Martinborough is so lovely, but I've never been there in the summer, definitely need to do Toast at some point!

I was at The Ancestral one night a few months ago and Martin Freeman was at the table next to us! Unfortunately it was dark and I wasn't wearing my glasses and so all I saw was a blur... not quite the same :(

  4. Looks like fun!

  5. hi!thanks for your coment on my blog! i'm now following you! what about folloeing eachother? :)

  6. Yes seeing Martin Freeman the day after watching him as Dr Watson in Sherlock was pretty amazing. I can't wait for The Hobbit to be released.
