Photodiary: A Saturday stroll.

Last week I bought my new Nikon D3200, as you saw in the SPCA pictures. Today I went for a stroll around Evan's Bay, near where I live, because it was lovely and I needed som fresh air.

This is what I've been having for breakfast lately - wholegrain oats, yoghurt, vanilla protein powder, LSA and berries. So much goodness and keeps my motor running all morning!

Lunches this week have been pretty tasty as well!

Going for my stroll today. Playing with the effects on my camera - this is fish eye, if you couldn't tell.

Miniature effect - doesn't really work on this picture, but this area is the old Boat Patent yard, my granddad used to work here when he was a captain of ships.

The piers and the boat-sheds around Evan's Bay are so pretty and quirky!

I stopped off at Greta Point Cafe for a Blueberry muffin as my treat for going to the gym 5 times this week (!!) and a...

Long black, of course!

On the way back home...

Tomorrow my friend Abby and I are heading to the Zoo, so look out for a zoo post at some stage this week!

Totally enjoying my playing with my new camera!

Happy first day of SPRING!

  1. Yay, loving the photos and glad to see you're enjoying your new camera!!

I just picked up the 50mm lens today! Decided to go with the d, the man at the shop I bought it from was really helpful and said there is no quality difference between them at all so it would be silly for me to pay an extra $200ish. I haven't played with it too much yet but I love it already! :D

Have fun at the zoo tomorrow! And Happy first day of Spring to you too!!

    1. Yay! Yeah, the food photo's were taken with my 50mm, as were the Haitaitai beach and the third to last one. It's interesting playing with it because I'm so used to using the generic 18-55mm lens, it's got a much smaller frame. But I love the depth of field!

Have fun playing with it! :)

    1. Aww thanks! Unfortunately, Zoo has been postponed as my friend needs to do an essay (damn people who are still at Uni!) Haha. Next week!

Might go on a mission to the Botanical gardens tomorrow instead. :)

  4. So pretty pictures of the ozean and harbour. Reminds me a little bit at South England. I want a new camera, too. It's like a little camera addiction :D

  5. Suuuch great photos. The miniature effect looks really cool, would be interested to see more pics of that!

Its crazy that I lived in Wellington for 6 years and there are so many places I have yet to explore... never been to Haitaitai except as a passer-by on the bus / car.
